Our Home Care team works locally, and is well connected to other local aged care agencies.
Should your needs change, your Regis Case Manager can give you access to Regis Respite Care and Aged care services.
All our staff are fully trained and qualified, and participate in ongoing education programs to ensure our service and our offers keep getting better.
A Home Care Package is an Australian Government funded program that assists and supports older people, with a range of care needs, to remain at home for as long as possible. Regis provides choice and flexibility in how care and support is delivered, ensuring the program meets your physical, social, and cultural needs.
There are four levels of Home Care Packages:
Level 1 supports people with basis care needs
Level 2 supports people with low level care needs
Level 3 supports people with intermediate care needs
Level 4 supports people with high level care needs
As with the Community Aged Care Package the Consumer Directed Care (CDC) Package is an Australian Government funded program assisting and supporting older people with a range of care needs to remain living at home. CDC packages provide for higher levels of support than Community Aged Care Packages whilst still taking into account your physical, social and cultural needs.
To benefit from a Home Care Package, you will need to have an assessment from your local Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS). This assessment is free and can be arranged by your local GP. The assessment will determine if you are eligible to receive aged care services.
If your assessment leads to you being eligible to receive a Home Care package, our Regis Program Manager will meet with you to discuss your needs, and help you and your family to make informed choices about the services you require.
As part of the Regis Home Care service you will be assigned a Case Manager, who will visit you regularly in your own home. These Case Managers will be the key contact person for you and your family.
The Case Manager will work with you and/or your family representatives to tailor a special program of care and services that support your decision to remain at home. Some examples of services offered include:
These services will be provided by our dedicated and specially trained Regis Support Worker.
Home Care Packages are funded by the Australian Government. However you may be required to contribute to towards the cost of providing your care package based on your assessed financial circumstances.
Fees are variable and are based on your income levels. If you are currently on the maximum basic rate of pension, your Basic Care fee will not exceed 17.5% of that pension. If you have a higher income you may be asked to pay an additional Means Tested Care Fee set by the Department of Health. All fees will be made clear at the time of assessment with our service.
Please note – there are annual and lifetime caps that apply to the Means Tested Care Fee. Once you have reached either of these caps, you cannot be asked to pay any further Means Tested Care Fees.
