Regis Delphi House - Belmore
27 Redman Parade
Belmore New South Wales 2192
Regis Delphi House overflows with
fascinating culture, heritage and personality. This intimate
residence set in the heart of Belmore is a rich representation of
community in the deepest sense.
Delphi's simple and welcoming space
is a celebration of the wonderful cultural diversity in Sydney's
suburban south west, particularly Mediterranean Greek.
Visit on any day and you're likely
to experience a snapshot of Greek festivities, including a spread
of mouth-watering traditional Greek foods like dolmades and
baklava, cooked to perfection and brought in by Greek families and
friends from the wider community.
We're proud of the colour and
character of our 72 bed heritage home. We love its high ceilings
which echo with activities and animated conversation. This older
building was originally a maternity hospital in the 1920s and still
carries a life-giving ambience to this day.
Delphi is appropriately named
considering about half our residents are Greek speaking. To make
them feel fully at home we have numerous Greek speaking staff
too.
All our residents know each other
and are pleased to enjoy close connections through the Greek
community.
Delphi also has a close connection
with the Greek Orthodox Church and encourages families to visit
twice a week for special cultural gatherings and traditional meals.
These occasions are wonderfully indulgent and boisterous
affairs.
Activities embellish our festive
events, with plenty of exercises, movies and games. We are
currently developing an exciting new program of behavioural and
dementia-specific activities which will add even more to the
quality of life for our residents in the near future.
Delphi has two lounge areas and a
large courtyard where we all gather together for barbecues. On
these occasions the men love to help cook while the ladies sit and
chat together. It's very nice to hear the different languages
mingling together and watch our residents finding common ground in
friendship.
Delphi House residents are also
able to take advantage of the following services on offer:
- regular church service
- massage therapy
- visiting library service
- experienced in-house chef and catering staff
- special dietary requirements met
Residents receive all the benefits
of the Regis Group's living care model of responsive support
provided by leading professionals and tailored to individual
medical, cultural and religious preferences.
