Regis Lake Park - Blackburn
40 Central Road
Blackburn Victoria 3130
Spectacular is an understatement.
Regis Lake Park is our flagship residence, an architecturally
designed contemporary showpiece with resort-style facilities and
the absolute best of premium care for residents of all levels of
independence.
Overlooking the magnificent
bushland of Blackburn Lake Sanctuary, Lake Park is a pleasure to
live within and an asset to the surrounding suburb, which is one of
the most pleasant, peaceful and green in Melbourne's inner
east.
Just completed, every element of
Lake Park is sparkling new, from the pristine finishes on our
understated decor to the enthusiastic smiles of our experienced
staff and happy residents.
However high your expectations, the
new premises will still impress with spacious and light-filled
interiors incorporating a series of generous multipurpose spaces
and dining rooms, plus many more features to come, including a
beauty salon and dedicated cinema.
Our comprehensive amenities are
augmented by a choice of comfortable bedrooms and suites, many with
balconies and treetop views of the sanctuary. The entire building
is connected by a vast, glass-walled atrium which serves as a
striking entranceway and stairwell to the second storey.
Above the luxury suites on the
second floor will be a rooftop garden with breathtaking panoramas
of the sanctuary. Speaking of views, the dining rooms on each level
are a picture, literally, with communal verandas extending beyond
expansive glass facias.
Residents also have easy access to
the sanctuary's picnic area right next door. The sanctuary is an
oasis of wildlife and wonder, perpetually watered by the large
natural lake at its centre. The overall environment is so pristine
it's hard to believe you're in the heart of the suburbs.
A chorus of birds herald every day
and treat Lake Park residents to displays of vivid colour.
Our keen birdwatchers are always
ready to point out their favourites, like the iridescent rainbow
lorikeets which are so prevalent in the Blackburn area. There are
plenty of kookaburras laughing around us too and don't be surprised
to see the occasional pelican making a pit-stop on the lake.
Of course, many of our new
residents already know this. A great number are long-time residents
of Blackburn and appreciate the chance to live beside one of their
most familiar landmarks.
Encouraging connections within the
close-knit Blackburn community is integral to the lifestyle quality
of Lake Park.
Our activities program is a
significant part of life for our residents, and always spiced with
a liberal dose of good humour. Even the most reluctant of our
participants can suddenly surprise with their level of interest and
before we know it, everyone's laughing.
Many of our pursuits are decided by
the residents themselves, some in-house and others involving the
wider community. We are currently arranging religious services of
various denominations from a selection of various local churches.
Another popular initiative is our connection with local
libraries.
We participate in the Blackburn
Library's book club and are arranging for them to bring this
program in-house as well. The nearby Vermont Library offer us their
outreach program, with a guest speaker from the branch explaining
how it works to residents.
The library compiles a list of loan
books, providing about six for each resident. These are delivered
to their rooms or as part of our in-house book club which meets on
the day the new loans arrive.
Little treats are top of our list
too. Residents look forward to our roving shopping trolley, stocked
with personal pampering items like talcum powder and hand creams,
plus chocolates, sweets and other goodies.
Resident movie fans love our
regular outings to Pinewood cinema - one the area's most
atmospheric small theatres - then discussing the movie they've seen
over lunch. Another popular excursion is the Rainbow Trout Farm in
the Dandenong Ranges. It's a wonderful day out and nice to know our
keen fishermen and women will always get a bite!
As staff at Lake Park, we get
remarkable reward from interacting with our residents. Everyday is
like a living history lesson and our residents say how gratifying
it is to be able to share their stories with us. Such mutual
appreciation is a sign we're doing things right.
Lake Park residents are also able
to take advantage of the following services on offer:
- on-site hairdressing and beauty therapy
- on-site cinema, library, cafe and chapel
- volunteer program
- experienced in-house chef and catering staff
- special dietary requirements met
Residents receive all the benefits
of the Regis Group's living care model of responsive support
provided by leading professionals and tailored to individual
medical, cultural and religious preferences.
