Regis Valley Views - Gatton
22 Dawson Drive
Gatton Queensland 4343
Nestled in the fertile Lockyer
Valley between Brisbane and Toowoomba, Regis Valley Views couldn't
be more appropriately named. We're surrounded by the rolling hills
of rich farming country - familiar territory to so many of our
residents who have lived in the area all their lives.
The Lockyer Valley is known as one
of Australia's best vegetable growing regions so it makes sense
that our chef chooses new season vegetables as an important staple
on our menus. Great food is integral to daily life here and
residents enjoy having their say on what is served. Valley Views is
all about resident's choice.
Located in the regional hub of
Gatton, our spacious home offers the essence of country living;
fresh air, beautiful views, manicured lawns and gardens and of
course, wonderful country hospitality.
A strong sense of community is
integral to the cosy atmosphere of Valley Views. To foster this we
provide a comprehensive program of regular activities and events,
which involve both high and low care residents. When the weather is
fine, we slide open the doors to the veranda and mingle together in
the sunshine.
Family is a big part of country
living so we get plenty of visits from resident's children and
grandchildren. They're welcomed for meals and because we don't have
visiting hours, come and go as they please.
A fitting conclusion to our week is
our Friday 'happy hour' when residents and their families enjoy
singers and entertainers over refreshments. This inclusive approach
matches our motto; 'our residents don't live in our workplace, we
work in their home'.
Valley Views' extensive exercise
program run by our physiotherapists is very popular, with each
activity designed to strengthen muscles, increase mobility and
balance. Low care activities include tai chi and, at present, our
high care residents are thoroughly enjoying doing their
twice-weekly routine to the chicken dance and the Macarena.
Residents immerse themselves in a
swag of other organised pastimes, like woodworking, craft days and
gardening galore. The rewards are evident; tubs brimming with
vegetables and pot after pot of blooming geraniums.
Many health providers visit us too;
a dentist, optometrist, podiatrist and speech pathologist among
them, as well as our recent guests from the Asthma Foundation.
Adventures beyond our grounds
include organised walks, picnics, town visits and bus trips like
the recent tour of RAAF Amberley Air Base, which was a sure fire
hit with everyone.
Valley Views residents are also
able to take advantage of the following services on offer:
- regular church service
- massage therapy
- occupational therapy
- music therapy
- experienced in-house chef and catering staff
- special dietary requirements met
