Pampering is part of the pleasure of living at Regis Waverley Gardens. Whether that means having your hair and nails done every week in our recently revamped hair and beauty salon, or simply soaking up the spacious modern atmosphere of our new wing.

Everyone makes similarly enthusiastic comments, residents and visitors alike. They say the place feels like a beautiful hotel, with attention paid to every detail of service and setting.

Such superb lifestyle quality is revealed with just a peek inside the lovely light-filled rooms of our new wing. All residents here have their own flat screen TVs plus many hidden luxuries, like the in-floor heating in each ensuite - perfect for warming feet on chilly winter mornings!

The new wing opened several weeks ago and is a joy to walk through, its fresh and bright interior decorated with an elegant palate of neutral tones. Olive greens, coppers and understated earthy colours create a calming ambience which people can live with comfortably everyday.

Waverley Garden's original building is very elegant too. Only five years old and compatibly modern, spacious and light-filled. Perhaps the biggest difference is that our original section has had time to develop a wonderful presence entirely its own - engendered primarily by the personality of so many happy residents within.

Each wing has a separate front entrance but both are interlinked at various points throughout the interior. Each also contains its own communal areas, dining room and living room, activities rooms and sitting rooms. All hum with the energy of daily life, from conversations to creative undertakings.

Activities rooms are particularly bustling, a hive of action whether it's the morning exercise routines of residents, our regular Monday carpet bowls, daily bingo or specialised one-on-one activities like knitting. Residents and their families often book these rooms for get togethers and celebrations, like birthdays and anniversaries.

Performers are a big part of life at Waverley Gardens too. John the piano man plays every Friday and residents love the live music (from singing groups to instrumental ensembles) which add such vivacity to our regular happy hours.

We're especially looking forward to a forthcoming performance from the Lyndale School Band, as well as visits from the students of various other local schools who come as part of their community service program.

Sundays see church services of different denominations and throughout the week residents settle in to enjoy movies, from classic westerns to romantic favourites like Breakfast at Tiffany's.

As perpetually welcoming as our community is, residents are always excited by opportunities for excursions farther afield, such as their regular visits to Dandenong RSL's Morning Melodies sing-along event.

Not only is this an excuse to reminisce through song, it's a well-appreciated chance to mix and chat with residents from other facilities. Rarely do these occasions go by without one of our residents sharing just how ideal their life is at Waverley Gardens.
