AGED CARE RESIDENCES
Regis Weeroona - Malvern East

400 Waverley Road
Malvern East Victoria 3145

At Regis Weeroona, community is about the reward of shared experiences - shared among our own close-knit group of residents and shared through visits from local Malvern East community members who come to chat with us and perform for us.

Community is also shared in a broader sense during our excursions, and shared through our own residents' generosity towards people less fortunate than themselves. In particular, our wonderful team of disabled gardeners who help tend our beautiful gardens as part of a long-standing community initiative.

The caring interaction between Weeroona-ites and our enthusiastic helpers is a joy to see; nurturing, encouraging and supportive in every way. Of course it helps that many of our residents are keen gardeners themselves and happy to share the knowledge they've absorbed over years.

The candid relationship between residents and our volunteer gardeners is mutually beneficial. It sets up a situation where residents are the ones doing the caring rather than being cared for. It also provides them with a real sense of doing something worthwhile for the community, and visa versa. Everyone's self esteem and confidence gets a boost.

That this takes place amid such pretty greenery is an extra bonus, because our gardens are an aesthetic highlight too. A verdant oasis of large shade trees centred around a barbecue area that's popular all year round.

Weeroona's low and high care sections are both warm and inclusive. Low care residents enjoy 'Ageing in Place', a wonderful initiative that lets residents stay in their own familiar space as they become less able, rather than being obliged to move into the high care section.

This program is fabulous for the peace of mind of residents and their families, by giving them the assurance of absolute care without the upheaval of leaving the place where they feel most at ease.

The feedback we receive from residents' families about Aging in Place is consistently positive. Each glowing comment makes us even more determined to give just that little bit extra all the time.

A huge contributor to the delightful environment of Weeroona comes from our stalwart staff, many of whom have been with us for years. Seeing familiar faces is something our residents love and the strong bonds they form with staff adds considerably to their overall sense of belonging.

Such wellbeing often comes from the smallest things, like never rushing people, during meals or any other time. We structure daily routines and programs at a pace that suits residents so they know their time is just that; their time. The result is, quite simply, one fantastic family.

Weeroona residents are also able to take advantage of the following services on offer:

  • on-site hairdressing and beauty therapy
  • volunteer program
  • experienced in-house chef and catering staff
  • special dietary requirements met

Residents receive all the benefits of the Regis Group's living care model of responsive support provided by leading professionals and tailored to individual medical, cultural and religious preferences.
