Nursing Scholarship Program

Each year, the Regis Group offers undergraduate nursing students who demonstrate a commitment to aged care, the opportunity for financial assistance in their final year of studies.

Selection criteria for the Nursing Scholarship Program are as follows:

  • You must be an enrolled final year nursing undergraduate student;
  • Have previous and/or scheduled Gerontology studies and placement in aged care;
  • Be currently working or volunteering in the aged care sector;
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to working with older Australians.

Whilst the Nursing Scholarship program does not tie any recipient to employment with the Regis Group, successful applicants will be offered (where a position is available) the opportunity to work with the Regis Group following the completion of their degree.

The application process is as follows:

  • Applications completed and submitted by April 23, 2010;
  • Short-listed applicants will be interviewed by a selection panel;
  • Announcement of successful applicants will be made by the end of June each year.

Scholarship monies will be paid as follows:

  • 50% on announcement of successful candidates; and
  • 50% on submission of required report at the conclusion of the scholarship period.

Successful applicants will be also need to be available for the following:

  • Acceptance of the scholarship at a state based award ceremony;
  • Promotion of the benefits of further nursing studies to Regis staff;
  • Participation at careers fairs at Regis booths (minimum one event per student);
  • Ambassadors for the Regis Group at relevant events (requirements to be negotiated on a one on one basis).
