STEP TWO - FINDING AN AGED CARE RESIDENCE Once you have been assessed by an ACAT as eligible for residential aged care, you may choose to start looking for an aged care home. |

STEP THREE - WORKING OUT THE COST Whilst the Australian Government helps with the cost of residential aged care it also expects those who can afford it to contribute to the cost. |

STEP FOUR - APPLYING You will need to complete an application form to be eligible for admission to permanent or respite care. |

STEP FIVE - MOVING AND SETTLING IN Living in an aged care residence will be different from the way that you have lived before. Not only is it a new environment but you are living with many new people all under the one roof. In addition to this each aged care residence will have different routines and environments. |
