This month Regis aged care facilities celebrated the Chinese New Year with events typifying traditional Chinese cultural celebrations. In Chinese culture the New Year is marked with a Spring Festival and this year heralded the Year of the Rooster. Residents at our aged care facilities in Blackburn marked the occasion with a vibrant performance by professional oriental dancers, delicious traditional Chinese food and an impromptu performance by our enthusiastic Regis lifestyle team. Residents at Regis Alawarra Lodge attended wearing red clothing which symbolises good luck.

The Chinese New Year celebrations continued at Regis Whitfield with a performance from a talented pair of Chinese lion dancers. The vibrantly costumed lion dancers thrilled residents with their display. Regis residents’ also attended a restaurant outing with Lifestyle staff arranging lunch at what was some residents’ first experience of Yum Cha. Here’s to lucky Year of the Rooster 2017!
