As advised yesterday, we have been assisting the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) with their investigation and contact tracing following an Allied Health worker, who attended residents at Regis Alawarra on 6 August, testing positive for COVID-19.
Sonic Healthcare tested all residents on Saturday. Test results are coming through and so far all results are negative, although a number are pending. Staff testing is occurring today. Residents remain in good spirits and are eagerly awaiting the remaining test results.
Whilst the news so far is good, until all results are known, Regis Alawarra will be in lockdown and we have asked our residents to remain in their rooms. All staff will be in full Personal Protective Equipment.
In the meantime we will continue to follow our Outbreak Management Plan and will keep you updated via email every day with the latest news and advice. Residents will also receive daily printed updates until the outbreak is declared over by DHHS.
Today, the management team is on site, led by Wendy our Facility Manager. We will continue to keep all our residents comfortable and engaged while they remain in their rooms. Our one-on-one Lifestyle Program continues, including providing emotional support and assistance to residents with FaceTime and phone calls to loved ones over the coming days.
