As advised yesterday, we have been assisting the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) with their investigations and contact tracing. This follows an Allied Health worker, who attended residents at Regis Blackburn on 12 August, testing positive for COVID-19.
Sonic Healthcare tested all residents on Saturday and results are coming through. So far we have 153 residents return a negative result, while 25 test results are pending. Staff testing is occurring today. Residents and staff remain in good spirits and are eagerly awaiting the remaining test results.
Whilst the news so far is good, Regis Blackburn will be in lockdown until all results are available. Our residents have been asked to remain in their rooms while all staff will be in full Personal Protective Equipment.
In the meantime we will continue to follow our Outbreak Management Plan and will keep you updated via email every day with the latest news and advice. Residents will also receive daily printed updates until the outbreak is declared over by DHHS.
Today, the full management team are on site led by Adam. We will continue to keep all our residents comfortable and engaged while they remain in their rooms. Our one-on-one Lifestyle Program continues, including providing emotional support and assistance to residents with FaceTime and phone calls to loved ones over the coming days.
