Our priority today and always is the health and wellbeing of our residents. Our clinical team has completed their round of daily screenings using the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) assessment tool. They will be in contact if the clinical status of your loved one changes.
The Lifestyle team is spending time with each resident to ensure their emotional and mental wellbeing are well cared for too. They are a great support for our residents while they remain in their rooms. We know communication with family and friends is vital during these times, therefore our alternative connection via FaceTime and phone calls remain in place. I am delighted to share that after the COVID-19 testing on Tuesday, all residents and staff have received negative results. We look forward to working with the DHHS on our next steps.
We are hopeful that we will enter Enhance Surveillance during the weekend. DHHS has advised that the next phase, assuming all results are negative and residents and staff remain well, will involve residents being able to come out of their rooms and into communal areas and staff ceasing full Personal Protective Equipment use, with the exception of face masks and shields. We will also closely monitor all residents by continuing the screening process every day. It will be wonderful for our residents to sit down to a communal meal again, albeit socially distanced.
Staff are reminded to be vigilant whilst at work and home and to stay away and seek testing if at all unwell. If all residents and staff continue remain well for a further 14-day period, DHHS will declare the outbreak over. Unfortunately, visitation will continue to be restricted, unless compassionate reasons apply. We will continue with the ‘enhanced surveillance’ measures as these are very similar to the safeguards Regis had in place prior to the outbreak commencing.
