Regis Families Update to All Brisbane Metropolitan Homes– Return to Stage 3


Dear Families,

I hope you are all keeping safe and well. I am pleased to advise that we will be easing our Stringent Access Controls across our Homes in Metropolitan Brisbane and our Gatton Home effective Thursday 13 August 2020.

As always, the health and wellbeing of our residents and our staff is our highest priority. Therefore, it’s critical that we act to continue to protect the Homes and your loved ones.

The changes mean that visitation will be limited to two visitors at a time, for two hours, within set visiting hours, unless compassionate reasons apply. Visiting hours are:

  • 9:30 am – 11:30 am
  • 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Visits by your loved ones must be booked in with your Home prior to arrival so that appropriate screening can take place. We will continue to ensure that you can stay in touch with your loved one with alternative forms of communication, including FaceTime and phone calls. Our staff can coordinate this for you.

If you wish to visit for compassionate reasons, please contact your Homes Facility Manager who will work with you to accommodate visitation.

Our Homes will continue with modified programs and dining to adhere to social distancing. Our teams are maintaining enhanced infection control practices including hand hygiene, increased touch point cleaning and health screening of every staff member before every shift. If any employee, contractor or volunteer works or visits across multiple care facilities, they must wear a single-use surgical face mask at all times in our Homes. If they are exempt from wearing a mask due to health or personal reasons, they will not be permitted to enter. This is in line with the revised directions of the Queensland Government.

Residents are again able to leave the Home. However, when doing so you must follow all government advice and avoid large crowds.

I am confident that you will agree that precautions remain important at this time. We have reminded all staff of their responsibilities and will again advise our external service providers of their responsibilities as well.

We will continue to monitor the situation and advice every day and, as part of living with COVID-19, we anticipate making changes including moving back to more access as soon as it is considered safe to do.
