The majority of results from yesterday’s Sonic Healthcare testing of all residents and staff have been returned as negative. There are just a few still pending and we expect these outstanding results to be returned in a day or so. We will advise you once we have them. The negative tests are encouraging for both staff and residents as we await the remaining test results.
Our clinical team continue to assist residents using the Department of Health and Human Services screening tool. It is important to monitor the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of all our residents so we can support them. We will continue to do this every day and as always, will update you if the clinical status of your loved one changes.
Alan, our Facility Manager, is working across the weekend to support residents and staff. He reports that the Home remains calm. Our Lifestyle team organised a live streaming activity from Melbourne Zoo as a special event to keep our residents engaged during this time.
We will continue to update you daily via email and also regularly through phone contact. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please call Regis Advice on 1300 998 100 to be put through to our senior team who are on standby to take your calls.
We know it is hard to be away from your loved ones. The Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) has a range of resources available to support you and our residents. I encourage you to visit the Older Person’s Advocacy Network (OPAN) website and read the OPAN flyer (PDF). I hope you find them useful.
I would like to thank you for your patience during these uncertain times.
