I am pleased to report that the next round of testing will occur tomorrow. This is an important round of testing because it will be 11 days since either staff member who tested positive for COVID-19 was at the Home. We continue to work with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and they have advised it is likely that, if all tests from this next round of testing are negative, we will soon be able to move to ‘enhanced surveillance’ mode. This is where residents are no longer required to self-isolate in their rooms and are able to once again enjoy communal meals and lifestyle activities, albeit with physical distancing maintained.
Our team at Regis Cranbourne continues to maintain a routine for our residents to keep them engaged and comfortable. The supportive comments we are receiving from residents and families are encouraging and welcomed by all staff involved.
The clinical team completed their full round of assessments this morning. As usual, they will have made contact if required. Our one-on-one Lifestyle Program continues with activities, support and assistance to make FaceTime and phone calls to loved ones. I encourage you to contact the Home direct to schedule a time.
If you have any concerns or questions while we wait for details on the next round of testing, please call through to Regis Advice on 1300 998 100, who will transfer you to a dedicated support team to answer your questions and action anything as needed.
We are here to support you and your loved ones.
