COVID-19 Update Dandenong North – no cases

Dear Families,

I am writing to share the positive news that our staff member who had been identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19 has returned a negative test result. This means the outbreak at Regis Dandenong North has been stood down. Our staff member will remain away from work in quarantine for a two week period and we will remain in contact at this time. This is great news and we are thrilled that our residents are able to leave their rooms and socialise, and our staff are no longer using full Personal Protective Equipment, only face masks and shields.

The safety and wellbeing of our residents and our staff are our highest priorities. Therefore, our Access Controls remain in place. Unfortunately this means that visitation will continue to be permitted on compassionate grounds only. However, I want to reassure you that our Lifestyle team will continue to support your loved ones and our alternative communication of FaceTime and phone calls remain in place. Our team is available to coordinate this for you.

Physical distancing remains in place to ensure our residents are safe while socialising in common areas. We will now serve meals in our dining room so everyone can enjoy a communal meal.

I would like to thank the team at Dandenong North for their hard work and diligence in keeping our residents and our Home safe. We know the past week has been challenging and I am grateful that they followed the Regis Outbreak Management Plan at all times.

I would like to extend this appreciation, to you, our families and your loved ones, for your ongoing support and understanding during this unprecedented time.

I know you share our delight on reaching this positive milestone. We will no longer provide daily updates, but as always, if there are any clinical changes to your loved one, our team will be in touch.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Regis Advice on 1300 998 100 to be transferred through to a senior member of our team who are on standby to support you.

Thank you again, and stay safe.

Best wishes,

Linda Mellors
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
