“Everything we do, we do for our residents.”
That’s the vision of Regis Aged Care – a vision that, for over 20 years, has translated into some of the most renowned aged care services that’ve enhanced the lives of thousands of Queenslanders across the state.
With a sole focus on aged care at the heart of Regis’ personalised and supportive services, it’s no wonder the aged care provider is one of Australia’s largest and most trusted.
Even with 19 convenient operating sites available in Qld from Cairns to Townsville to Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Gatton, no two of its quality facilities are the same.
“We focus on the ‘local’ so that each facility reflects the environment it is in,” Regis General Property Manager Michael Horwood .
The renowned wealth of care services available under residential or respite care and health services include choice of doctor, dietician, diversional therapy, fitness and wellness, massage therapy, pharmacy, physiotherapy, podiatry and speech therapy.
As two exciting new Regis sites make their way into Qld at Chelmer (December 2017) and Lutwyche (late 2018), the Regis family continues to get bigger and better. Regis’ research shows the market need for high quality buildings with consumer choice in services.
Commissioned research showed the local market was after providers who put residents at the core of their business and interests and that everything was centered around the residents. This was from the building design, décor, gardens, the lifestyle activities, menus that reflected the wants and needs of the current cohort and innovations that made the everyday easier.
Regis Chelmer was a grand old heritage listed Queensland house but was very run down. This building was retained and refurbished. The architects worked very hard with the local community to create a structure that represented Queensland design and is complimentary to the surrounding suburb and the strong sub tropical character of the area.
Regis’ property and design team are constantly looking at ways to improve our design through either customer feedback, industry innovations or the building market in general (here and overseas). This feedback saw larger private rooms with en suites being designed. For Chelmer, a unique rooftop café- similar to what you would find in a boutique hotel was added. This encourages residents to mingle and family and friends to visit and enjoy the good things in life with an aperitif trolley offered and a coffee machine always available.
“These new sites will offer a luxury aged care experience,” Mr Horwood said. These sites include monthly day spa treatments, hairdressing services, beautician services and aromatherapy services. A 24 hour personalised in house TV channel additionally keeps all residents informed about the daily menu, activities and special upcoming events. Good nutrition underpins good health, which is why we also have chefs on site in every residence and home-style meals and baked treats are prepared daily.
“We are continually upgrading our facilities, so when you choose Regis, you’re choosing a community purpose built to provide the support, care and community connections you need.” – Michael Horwood.
Regis was formed in the early 1990s and has grown from 104 places into the largest most geographically diversified private residential aged care provider in Australia. Regis currently operates 57 facilities with over 6500 places with an additional 900 beds to be operational in the coming 12 months. Regis’ growth is underpinned by offering premium services, a strong development program, and acquisition activity.
