Regis Family Update: COVID-19 prevention and support

I hope you are all keeping safe and well. I am thrilled to advise that we will be easing our stringent access controls across our Homes in Mildura VIC, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia. We will continue tighter controls in Victoria and particularly the suburbs currently experiencing increased cases of community transmission. We anticipate that we will need to adjust settings based on local community transmission numbers for many months.

What this means

Our Homes can now accept 2 visitors per resident at a time without a time limit. Visiting hours are no longer in place however we encourage you to visit during business hours where possible.

We ask that you continue to let Reception know of your intent to visit ahead of time so that we can maintain appropriate screening processes. Some other restrictions continue to apply within the Homes including limiting movement in public spaces. Please speak to Reception upon arrival to find out what is in place. It is important that you follow all of the guidelines and requests from our employees. These are in place to keep your loved ones safe.

We encourage you to seek testing even if you have minor symptoms. Testing is free and widely available at respiratory clinics and health centres across Australia. Please refer to your State or Territory’s Health website to find the testing site closest to you.

Testing is an easy process and involves self-isolating until you return a negative result. Self-isolating and testing is in the protection of yourselves, your loved ones and your community.

Melbourne, Victoria

As many of you are aware, there has been a surge of cases in some parts of Victoria. Three of our Homes in those areas have re-entered a period of strict Stringent Access Control to protect our residents and employees. I would ask that if you have visited any of the areas identified as hotspots in Victoria that you refrain from visiting our Homes for 14 days.

COVID-19 is still with us and we must not become complacent. Our highest priority remains the safety and security of our residents, clients and employees. We will move quickly to reinstate access controls at any point should the situation change as it has in Melbourne and will keep you informed. I ask for your understanding and patience as we navigate this regularly changing situation.

I encourage you to download the COVIDsafe app if you have yet to do so. The more who download, the safer our community can be as authorities can better trace community transmission. You can download the app here:

As always, please talk to your Facility Manager if you have any concerns or needs. Please, stay safe.
