Regis Fawkner – COVID-19 update

Families,

I can now confirm that all residents and staff test results have been received from the most recent round of testing at Regis Fawkner. All results from this round are negative for COVID-19. The Department of Health and Human Services has advised that the next round of testing will occur in the next few days, probably tomorrow afternoon. We will confirm once we know when this will occur.

This is good news. We will continue to focus on the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of our residents. The clinical team has completed their daily round of assessments for all residents using the DHHS screening tool. They will be in contact if the clinical status of your loved one changes.

Our Lifestyle team has also been supporting our residents with their mental and emotional health. The team has introduced a new game, hallway bingo to keep residents engaged. It’s a spin on standard bingo, where the residents remain in their rooms and our Lifestyle team call numbers from the hallway. Residents are enjoying this activity.

We would like to thank our families who provided positive feedback on Betcy, our acting Lifestyle coordinator, who continues to work on connecting families with residents. I encourage you to schedule phone calls with your loved ones. It is always popular with residents and often the highlight of their day. Please contact the Home to schedule a call.

We are here to support you and your loved ones during this challenging time and will keep you informed at every step of the way. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Regis Advice on 1300 998 100 to be transferred through to a senior member of our team who are on standby to support you.

Keeping our residents and our employees safe are our highest priorities.

Best wishes,

Linda Mellors
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
