You may have heard that the Queensland Chief Health Officer, Dr Jeannette Young, announced on Saturday that all aged care facilities in a number of restricted Local Government Areas (LGA) in Brisbane and surrounds are to be closed to visitors.
I am writing to advise that we will maintain our current Access Controls in the following Queensland Homes – Regis Ayr, Regis Home Hill, Regis Kirwan, Regis Redlynch and Regis Whitfield even though our Homes are not in the restricted LGA catchments.
Our continued Access Controls mean that residents can have up to 2 visitors at a time, for 2 hours.
Please book your visit with your Home’s reception between these visiting hours.
If you wish to request a visit for compassionate reasons outside of these hours, please speak to your Home’s Facility Manager. They will work with you to accommodate visitation requests as far as possible.
We will continue to ensure that you can stay in touch with your loved ones. Our staff will be happy to organise either a FaceTime video call, phone or window visit appointment.
We strongly believe that this is the best way to continue to keep those in our care safe. We will be reviewing the advice from the Queensland Government and Federal Government daily and provide you with updates of any changes.
Our Homes will continue with modified programs and dining arrangements to adhere to physical distancing where possible. Our teams are maintaining infection control practices including hand hygiene, increased touch point cleaning and health screening of every staff member before every shift.
In addition to this, if any employee, contractor or volunteer works or visits across multiple care facilities including hospitals and retirement villages, they must wear a single-use surgical face mask at all times in our Homes. If they are exempt from wearing a mask due to health or personal reasons, they will not be permitted to enter. This is in line with the revised directions of the Queensland Government.
Please call through to our Regis Advice support team on 1300 998 100 with any questions or concerns. We have maintained this measure so our staff can focus completely on the care and support of our residents and ensure our Access Controls continue to be enacted quickly, efficiently and successfully.
Together we can keep residents safe, supported and well. As always, please talk to your Facility Manager if you have any concerns or needs. Please, stay safe.
