Regis Celebrates Nurses on International Nurses Day 2019

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12. It is a time to celebrate the incredible work our nurses do day to day, and to get to know the individuals within our sites. Pav is a Registered Nurse (RN) and was the Merit Award winner at the 2018 National Awards in the Outstanding Clinical Excellence category.

Pav’s journey began with an interest in general medicine- her passion was realised when she started working as an Enrolled Nurse (EN). Caring for residents brought back memories of her mum looking after her aged grandma at home. Sadly, all her grandparents passed away while she was young and Pav regrets not being able to spend more time with them. Knowing that she can provide help to someone in their time of need gives Pav a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction.

Pav has found her career with Regis to be very rewarding. She started her journey as an EN at Regis Bulimba, after which she was a RN at the facility. Years later, Pav became the Clinical Manager at Regis the Gap in Queensland. Presently, she is a Clinical Support Team member for Regis Qld and NSW sites. Pav considers Regis a place that encourages growth as she has grown professionally working in a supportive environment.

As nursing can be an emotionally tedious job, Pav balances her emotional self by building tolerance, support from both colleagues and immediate family.

On International Nurses Day Pav shares the qualities believes should be found in a good nurse: someone patient, good at planning and able to think critically in all situations.

Regis acknowledges the daily dedication and commitment of all our nurses as we celebrate this day. To all our amazing Nurses, Thank you.

Fun facts about Pav:

If she wasn’t a nurse, Pav might have been baking cakes and running a flower store at the same time.

Happy International Nurses Day!
