Regis Cranbourne, Fawkner and Macleod Update: COVID-19 prevention and support

Dear Families,

Victoria is currently experiencing an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases with hot spots in the municipalities of Brimbank, Cardinia, Hume, Darebin, Moreland and Casey. We have three Regis homes that are located in those municipalities including:

  • Cranbourne
  • Fawkner
  • Macleod

While we have not had a resident or staff member testing positive for Covid-19, I am sure we all agree that we need to continue to protect our residents, home care clients and employees.

Given this, we will be reverting back to Stage 2 of our Stringent Access Control until 13 July 2020. This is in line with the new Directions from the Deputy Chief Health Officer (No.5) and the recent announcement from the Premier to reduce travel to the impacted areas.

Stage 2 means that visiting spots are still available, but at a slightly reduced number from those currently in place. It will also mean that families who need to visit for compassionate reasons, including to support your loved one with daily activities will still be able to do this. Unfortunately, it does mean that only one family member will be able to visit at a time, unless compassionate reasons apply. Your home’s Facility Manager will work with you to accommodate requests as far as possible.

I am confident that you will agree with me that increasing precautions is important at this time. We have reminded all staff of the need to continue to strictly comply with public health advice including maintain physical distancing from others and avoid to crowds, to wash hands regularly and to stay home and be tested if they are unwell.

This is a difficult time for all of us, and it is disappointing to see the increase in community numbers in some Melbourne municipalities. However, I thank you for your continued support and for working closely with our Regis team to protect your loved ones.

COVIDSafe

I encourage you to download the COVIDsafe app if you have yet to do so. The more who download, the safer our community can be as authorities can better trace community transmission.

You can download the app here:

As always, please talk to your Facility Manager if you have any concerns or needs. Please, stay safe.
