Regis Family Update – Cranbourne, Fawkner and Macleod: COVID-19 prevention and support

Dear Families,

I wrote to you last week regarding the recent increase of Covid-19 cases particularly in the municipalities of Brimbank, Cardinia, Hume, Darebin, Moreland and Casey.

Following further increases of cases, particularly those of community transmission, we have made the decision to return our three Regis homes that are located in those municipalities to Stage 1 Stringent Access Control. These Homes are:

  • Cranbourne
  • Fawkner
  • Macleod

I am sure we all agree that we need to continue to protect our residents, home care clients and employees. This is in line with the Directions from the Deputy Chief Health Officer (No.5) and the announcement from the Premier to reduce travel to the impacted areas. We will continue to ensure that you can stay in touch with your loved ones with alternative forms of communication. Our staff will be happy to organise either a FaceTime, phone or window visit.

The reinstated Access Controls include no visitation unless for compassionate reasons. Your home’s Facility Manager will work with you to accommodate requests as far as possible.

Our Homes will continue with modified programs and dining to adhere to physical distancing where possible. Our teams are maintaining enhanced infection control practices including hand hygiene and increased touch point cleaning.

I am confident that you will agree that increasing precautions is important at this time. We have reminded all staff of their responsibilities and will advise our external service providers that services will be paused for the time being.

We know that this is a difficult time for all of you however I thank you for your continued support and for working closely with our Regis team to protect your loved ones.

I encourage you to download the COVIDsafe app if you have yet to do so. The more who download, the safer our community can be as authorities can better trace community transmission.

You can download the app here:

As always, please talk to your Facility Manager if you have any concerns or needs. Please, stay safe.

Linda Mellors
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
