Regis Home Care and CHSP Clients Update: COVID-19 prevention and support

Regis’ highest priority is the safety and wellbeing of our residents and employees.

I thank you for your patience, good humour and feedback. I was deeply moved by the touching tributes villages held on ANZAC day. I hope you enjoyed your Anzac biscuits from the Village Managers and Village Concierges.

Flu Vaccination

Thank you to everyone who has let your Village Manager know that you have had your up to date flu vaccination this year. The vaccination is an important step to prevent influenza outbreaks in our villages and communities. I highly recommend you receive the flu vaccination if you have yet to do so.

It is also essential that you receive the flu vaccination and proof from your provider in order to visit our homes from 1 May. This is a new Australian Government requirement and our staff must not allow visitor entry without proof of vaccination (from a GP or pharmacy).

Update on our stringent access controls in our residential aged care homes

We are introducing measured adjustments to our stringent access controls in our residential aged care homes. These new measures will support controlled visitation for residents who wish to receive visitors. We are able to do this because thankfully Australia has entered a new phase as our new case diagnosis rate reaches a controlled low. We believe we are now in a position to carefully expand visitor access within the strict Federal and State requirements.

In addition to the current exceptions for compassionate reasons, we will now welcome other visitors during set times. We will limit the number of visitors at any one time and have a strict screening process before entry. Visits must be booked through the Regis home reception.

We will continue our other risk minimisation strategies including additional screening of resident health, screening of staff at the beginning of every shift and increased touch point cleaning throughout our homes. Connections through technology will continue to be available for residents and families.

We continue our daily review of the COVID-19 situation and risks and are ready to make rapid changes if needed.

I have downloaded the COVIDSafe app from the Government and I encourage you to do the same. This app is an important tool to stop spread of the virus and will help our public health officials to let us know if there is an increased risk in a particular area.

We need to remain vigilant regarding the risk of COVID-19 and the higher risk to older people.

Podcast – Regis Spotlight

I am pleased to announce that we have recently launched a new podcast discussing all things Aged Care and all things Regis.

You can find Regis Spotlight on our website at I encourage you to listen if you can. We welcome all feedback so please let you Village Manager know if there is a topic you would like us to cover next.

Thank you again for your understanding and support. As always, our employees have continued to display extraordinary commitment and compassion to our residents and families. We remain deeply grateful for their professionalism.

Please talk to your Village Manager and Village Concierge or Regis Advice if you have any concerns or needs. Please, stay safe.
