Regis Ringwood – COVID-19 update


Dear Families,

It has been a busy day today at Regis Ringwood. All residents and staff had their COVID-19 test in line with the advice from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). A large team from Sonic Healthcare was on site this afternoon to complete the testing process. We expect the results to be returned in a day or so and will advise you once we have them.

In addition to the COVID-19 testing, our clinical team has completed their daily assessment of all residents to check their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing using the DHHS screening tool. We will continue to do this every day and as always, will update your if the clinical status of your loved one changes.

Our Lifestyle team is working with each resident to ensure they feel supported and engaged during this time and we have had great feedback on our adapted program. Connection is very important while our residents remain in their rooms. We encourage you to contact the Home to organise a Facetime or phone call with your loved one. We have coordinated additional iPads to support this.

We continue to support our staff to comply with all aspects of the Outbreak Management Plan to help reduce the risk of transmission in the Home. This includes:

• Strict use of Personal Protective Equipment
• Staff work in separate zones in the Home to ensure no cross contamination
• Strict social distancing requirements for staff in and out of the Home
• Additional touch point and environmental cleaning

Our staff member who has tested positive for COVID-19 remains in isolation recovering. We are in regular contact with them to ensure they get the support they need. Our thoughts are with them during this challenging time.
