COVID-19 Precautionary Response – Regis Ringwood


As mentioned yesterday, we are still awaiting the result from our staff member who was identified as a close contact of a family member who had tested positive for COVID. We hope this result comes back today or tomorrow and will advise when it does.

We have identified staff members within the Home that are now considered close contacts. As a precaution, they will stay away from the Home until we have received the test result of our staff member. We are supporting all our staff members in isolation and our thoughts are with them during this challenging time.

We know this news is challenging and it is hard to be away from your loved ones. The Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) has a range of resources available to support you and your loved ones. I encourage you to visit the OPAN website and read the OPAN Flyer (PDF). Staffing at Regis Ringwood remains stable today as we continue to provide quality care and services to all of our residents. Morale is good and our one on one lifestyle activities continue. We encourage you to utilise our alternative connection opportunities to reach out to your loved ones via FaceTime, video call and phone calls as connection is now more important than ever. Additional iPads have been sent to the Home and our Lifestyle team can assist with calls.

Our clinical team has completed their daily assessment of all residents to check their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing using the Department of Health and Human Services screening tool. We will continue to do this every day and as always, will update your if the clinical status of your loved one changes.

We will continue to update you each day as the situation progresses. I encourage you to call our dedicated team on 1300 998 100 who will be able to transfer you to a senior staff member who will be available to answer any and all questions you may have and provide reassurance.

Our focus remains on your loved one and ensuring they are supported during this time.
