Regis Shenley – Update on Suspected COVID-19 case


Dear Families,

I’m writing to advise you that the employee who was a close contact to a positive COVID-19 case has returned a negative test result, which is great news.

The employee has been in self-isolation as per current Government guidelines after contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case outside our Home, and will remain in isolation for the full quarantine period as a precaution.

We are relieved at the news, however we know that we must continue to do everything we can to minimise the risk of infection in our Home to protect your loved ones and our employees as much as we can. These include:

  • All staff working for one Home to minimise the risk of cross-contamination across facilities
  • Extensive hand hygiene education, practice and reminders for all staff (and we are regularly encouraging residents to do the same)
  • Cough and sneeze etiquette
  • Social distancing in all possible circumstances
  • All staff wearing face masks inside the Home at all times according to DHHS guidelines
  • Visitors limited to those for compassionate reasons
  • Strict zoning of the Homes to limit movement of staff, and minimise the spread of infection
  • Staff reminded of the need to follow all Government restrictions and social distancing when not at work.

In the meantime, I encourage you to continue connecting with your loved ones while our necessary Stringent Access Controls remain in place. This includes Facetime, phone calls, care packages and Windows of Connection.
