Further statement from Regis Healthcare re Gastroenteritis at Regis Yeronga –
all aspects of outbreak management complied with following review by Australian Aged Care Quality Agency

Regis today provided a further update regarding the gastroenteritis outbreak experienced at its Yeronga facility recently.

Regis advises that effective from 28 August 2017, on advice from the Public Health Unit, its gastro protocols were ceased. Following an industrial clean, the facility is now operating as normal.

Regis further advises that following a routine inspection, the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency has confirmed that the Yeronga facility has met all requirements in the management of the gastro episode.

Every Aged Care facility is subject to a number of routine reviews by the Quality Agency in any year. Regis advises that, following a routine inspection and review, the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency has confirmed that the Yeronga facility had complied with all elements of outbreak management. The Quality Agency conducted a detailed review the facility’s performance against a number of areas that support the procedures for the management of and containment of infectious outbreaks. This review by the Quality Agency included talking to residents, their families and staff.

The outcome of this review is a testament to the ongoing professionalism and dedication of Regis’ staff at the facility.

Regis’ ongoing priority at the Yeronga facility is the care and wellbeing of its residents.
