Regis Salisbury aged care facility staff joined the local community to help a local in need. When staff heard that Arthur Jackson – known locally as Bob- lost his Salisbury home, his dogs and a Legion of Honour war medal in a blaze in April, they immediately rallied together to see how they could contribute to the community effort. The facility was quick to offer Bob a place so he’d have care, comfort and companionship through these cold winter months. Regis is working with Bob, his friends and his supporters including the RAAF 460 squadron who visited to help him settle permanently at the home.
This community spirit sees truth in the Chinese saying: “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”
