In April 2020, Katerina embarked on a new chapter in her career by joining Regis Burnside as a receptionist. With a background in Business Management, she was eager to make a positive impact.

“From the start, I was drawn to aged care by the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. The joy of seeing residents’ quality of life improve through meaningful connections was heartwarming,” shares Katerina.

“This deepened my appreciation for social connections, both professionally and personally. Nothing compared to the reward of a smile from someone whose life I had helped improve.”

A standout memory for Katerina was when a family member passed on their gratitude to the CEO about how appreciative they were for their mother’s care.

“This absolutely blew me away and still resonates with me, I am still so grateful for the lovely feedback provided.”

Support and development

After settling into her role, Katerina built strong relationships with residents and their families and once her knowledge grew, she knew she could take on more responsibilities.

After moving from Receptionist to Admissions Coordinator, she made her way to the role of Club Services Manager.

Progression through these roles has shaped her path and fueled her ambition to become a General Manager of a Regis Home in the future.
