Regis Sunraysia recently paid a visit to their sister Home, Regis Ontario. Inspired by the Winter Olympics, the two Homes came together in friendly competition for a series of games. Having watched the Olympics and cheered on Australia’s unprecedented success, residents tried their hand at a few competitions. Regis Ontario’s Lifestyle Coordinator Renae described it as, “the best afternoon!”
‘Wind the water bottle’ was a huge hit, with Regis Ontario resident Berniece saying, “it was so much fun! We hope to do more competitions with Regis Sunraysia in the future.”
The Regis Sunraysia team had one less resident than their competitors, so a family member of a Regis Ontario resident stepped in to be an ‘honorary Sunraysian’. The atmosphere was electric, with residents and employees cheering each other on. Whilst it was a close competition, in the end, the Homes drew.
Afterwards, to celebrate everyone’s amazing efforts, the teams then came together to enjoy afternoon high tea.
Whilst getting everyone moving and active, the inter-home visit also strengthened friendships between residents of these sister Homes, encouraging social connection. Thanks to the big success, the lifestyle teams of both Homes say another collaboration is already in the works.
