Regis Rosebud FAQs

Regis Rosebud has served the local community for many years delivering care and service excellence. However, as the building ages, it is becoming increasingly difficult to provide the standard of accommodation and amenities we believe our residents deserve, now and into the future.

Places will be available at nearby Regis Capel Sound, just 600 metres away, where we recently expanded our accommodation with the acquisition of an additional building. This offers residents the opportunity to move into a newer, purpose-built environment while remaining close to their local community. We will work closely with each resident and their family to find the most suitable option, ensuring continuity of care and support throughout the transition.

Our aim is to begin moving residents from Regis Rosebud to Regis Capel Sound and other Regis homes from November. Regis Rosebud will cease providing care and services on or before 31 January 2027. No resident will be required to relocate until suitable alternative accommodation arrangements have been made.

For residents who choose to accept relocation to Regis Capel Sound or another Regis home, we will ensure they are not financially disadvantaged as a result of the move. We will honour the terms of any current agreements, even if the room we identify as a suitable alternative has higher fees or charges than their current room.

For residents who decide to move to different accommodation than what we offer as part of our consultation process, or accommodation not owned and operated by Regis, then fees and charges will be negotiated and determined separately to this offer and/or directly with the alternative provider.

The Older Person’s Advocacy Network (OPAN) offers a free, confidential and independent service to our residents and families. We are committed to working with OPAN to ensure our residents and their families of Regis Rosebud receive support throughout this change. You can contact OPAN on 1800 700 600 seven days a week.

Residents who choose to move to Regis Capel Sound or another Regis home, will have their RAD rolled over to the new room if they would like us to do so. We will also help facilitate the transfer of RAD monies to other providers if you should choose to accept an offer at another home.

For respite stays due to continue beyond the closure of Regis Rosebud, we will assist residents and their supporters to find an alternative location to complete their respite stay.

Once a new home and date of admission has been confirmed, our team will provide all necessary support for preparing for re-locating, including packing and transport arrangements if required.

As residents begin to transition into their new living arrangements, we will continue to monitor service levels at the home to ensure there is appropriate care and support available on site.

Access to professional medical advice that residents trust is very important.

Regis will facilitate continuity of access to residents current doctor, if they agree to continue. If, as a result of relocation, residents would prefer a change of medical practitioner, then we will provide details of others located close to the new home and can assist with a transfer of records if requested.

Yes. With your consent we will ensure that any special care or meal plans are transferred to residents new home. We have also established a team to support our residents transitioning into new homes, whether this is with Regis or another provider.

Yes. If you require help, or you know someone else who needs to have this information translated, Regis is happy to provide the necessary support. Please speak to the General Manager of Regis Rosebud who will be happy to arrange translation services.

When anyone moves to a new home, a new resident agreement will need to be signed to comply with current legislation. We will honour any pre-existing arrangements to ensure no one is financially disadvantaged by the transfer if they remain within the Regis Group.

If a home other than a Regis home is selected, new terms and conditions in accordance with that provider’s policies and procedures would apply. You may wish to discuss this further with your Regis contact or the external consultant available.

Yes. Once a new home has been selected and a date of admission has been confirmed, our team will provide all necessary support for preparing for re-locating, including packing and transport arrangements if required.

Direct care employees will have the opportunity to transfer to Regis Capel Sound or another Regis home. Unfortunately, not all roles will be able to transfer to Capel Sound, and we are working closely with affected employees to explore alternative employment opportunities where possible and support them through this change.

The decision has not been made lightly, and we recognise the impact on our residents and families. Feedback can be provided directly to Regis by calling 1300 998 100 or emailing advice@regis.com.au. You are also able to raise any of your concerns with OPAN or the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

There is sufficient accommodation at Capel Sound for all Rosebud residents who do not require memory support. For residents with more specialised care needs, we will work closely with them and their families to identify a suitable new home. We will discuss individual arrangements directly with each resident and their family.

Residents who move to Capel Sound or another Regis home offered as part of this process will not be financially disadvantaged. We will honour their existing financial arrangements, even if the new room would ordinarily have higher fees or charges. Regis will also cover reasonable moving costs. If residents choose another provider, fees and charges will be determined separately with that provider.

The south building at Capel Sound has been renovated and is ready to welcome residents. We will begin arranging individual meetings and tours shortly, and will work with residents and families to plan moves as soon as practical. We want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to see their new home and that each move is carefully planned, with the right care and support in place.

Unfortunately, pets are not permitted to live at Regis Capel Sound. We understand how important pets can be to residents and will work with anyone affected to discuss their individual circumstances and explore suitable alternatives.

The rooms at Regis Capel Sound are different from those at Rosebud. Capel Sound offers newer, purpose-built accommodation, with single rooms, private ensuites and access to shared amenities including a café, private dining area and hair salon.

We understand that residents may have particular features or arrangements in their current rooms that are important to them. During individual discussions and tours, we will explain what is available at Capel Sound and work with residents and families to understand their needs and preferences.
