“I came to Australia as an International student, and now I can celebrate becoming a respected professional nurse. I feel very lucky to have worked in Regis Aged Care as I have been treated with respect and given every opportunity to develop my career,” says Nadeesha a Registered Nurse at Regis Aged Care.

Nadeesha Panawala’s career with Regis began in Ferny Grove aged care facility in 2010. In retrospect her career path has been diverse in roles and skills acquired during a 7 year journey as a Regis employee. Nadeesha began working with Regis Aged Care as a Laundry Assistant and quickly learned the Regis’ way adopting the creed of optimism, passion, integrity and respect in her work ethic.

Seizing a new opportunity to develop her career Nadeesha acquired culinary skills becoming a Food Service Assistant. Furthering her studies still with a Diploma of Nursing and following a first semester in studies developed her practical knowledge and skills being employed as an AIN at Regis.

Undertaking a Degree in Nursing soon after, Nadeesha recalls the support given by Hazel Mango (Facility Manger) who always went the extra mile to ensure she had the opportunity to study for exams and undertake clinical placement.

“Regis has always supported my professional development and provided me with shifts which fitted around my studies. Hazel (FM) always supported and encouraged me. She understood all the issues I faced and helped to overcome challenges and limit my stress,” she recalled.

To mark Nadeesha’s 7 year anniversary at Regis, staff and residents came together to reminisce on the years of dedication, support and compassion shown by Nadeesha, celebrating with a special multi-uniform coloured cake and of course, a wide circle of friends from the Regis family.Regis Careers Aged Care
