There is a proverb that says the body heals with play, the mind heals with joy and the spirit heals with laughter.

It’s International Day of Yoga and the residents of Regis Sandgate – Musgrave in Queensland turn to yoga to rejuvenate their body, mind and soul. Lisa Pawlenko, Regis Lifestyle Coordinator, organised the yoga activity to support the residents’ overall wellbeing.

Our residents really enjoyed uniting as a group and getting outdoors onto our outdoor deck to soak in the fresh air and sunshine, whilst reaping the benefits from the natural surroundings and nature.

“I felt my mind was a lot clearer,” said new resident Beverley Baxter. Beverly was very excited to learn that we would perform seated yoga exercises at Musgrave. She has an interest in yoga and said yoga is very good for all parts of the body.

“I felt better, the fresh air is so good and I am looking forward to this again,” said Clare, who enjoyed the yoga outside on the deck.

The residents were excited to embrace this outdoor activity at Regis Musgrave and looked forward to another relaxing session.
