At 105 years old—and soon to celebrate his 106th birthday in April—Regis Capel Sound resident Ron is living proof that age is just a number. Having only just moved into the Home six months ago, Ron has quickly become known around the Home for his friendly nature. He is always up for a chat, whether it’s with fellow residents, employees or visitors passing through the Home.

Ron’s commitment to staying active is inspiring. Every day, he makes time for exercise, often hopping on the pedal bike to keep his body moving and his mind sharp. His enthusiasm for life extends beyond fitness, Ron is deeply involved in the Home’s lifestyle activities, ensuring that his social calendar is always full.

One of Ron’s favorite pastimes is playing Rummikun. A game that combines luck and strategy, it’s an opportunity to bond with friends and share his knowledge. He is happy to teach newcomers the rules, always remaining patient and cheerful.

Ron’s days are rich with social connection, physical activity and mental engagement. As he approaches 106, Ron reminds us all that life is best lived with curiosity and kindness.
