Regis Aged Care has reached a key construction milestone on its new Toowong home in Queensland, with the development in Brisbane’s inner west “topping out” by reaching its full structural height.

Located just 5km from the CBD, the five-storey home will accommodate 123 residents and has been designed to support a more contemporary, community-connected approach to aged care.

Positioned within an established residential area, the development responds to growing demand for care options closer to home, allowing residents to remain connected to familiar surroundings, local services and family networks.

Regis’s Executive General Manager Property, Georgia Willis said the location plays an important role in supporting that connection.

“Being located in an established area like Toowong means residents can stay connected to their community, with access to local services, transport and familiar places,” Ms Willis said.

“The site’s elevated position has been carefully considered in the design, with rooms capturing views across the city and towards Mt Coot-tha. The home is also within easy reach of local shops, parks and public transport.”

Ms Willis said the design reflects how aged care environments are continuing to evolve.

“Regis Toowong has been designed to feel more like a home than a traditional care setting. Each floor is organised into smaller living “neighbourhoods”, with shared dining, lounge and activity spaces, supporting a more familiar, home-like environment for residents,” she said.

“This is also a practical approach to delivering care, allowing us to easily separate or isolate small areas if required.”

The residence will offer a full range of care options, including permanent care, respite care, dementia care and palliative care.

The development is being delivered by Woollam Constructions, with the project expected to be completed in late 2026.
