Step inside Johnathon’s room at Regis Capel Sound and you’ll be welcomed by a vibrant display of colourful paper, cards, and artworks. At his desk, you’ll find Johnathon hard at work—cutting, colouring, gluing, and crafting his latest masterpieces. It’s a passion he’s nurtured for more than 30 years.

Johnathon once owned a printing business, and his creative journey began unexpectedly. While visiting a wholesale craft shop, he noticed a striking display of cards—beautiful but expensive. Curious, he asked about them and learned they were imported from America. Despite never having made a card before, Johnathon thought, “I reckon I could do that!”

His background in printing gave him a strong foundation in design principles. “I understood paper, I understood design, I understood colour balance,” he explains.

Over time, his cards grew more intricate and refined. Johnathon became an expert in the craft, even teaching card-making classes in schools. Today, he shares his skills with fellow residents at Regis Capel Sound, inspiring others in the Home to express themselves creatively and create their own beautiful cards.
