Newsroom

My name is Kushal Bayanju and I have been working as a Home Support Worker in Regis Home Care Tasmania – South since November 2020. My job involves working closely with the elderly and building relationships with them. I enjoy providing care and support to older people living in the local community, as it gives me great satisfaction knowing that I make a positive difference in their lives. Working in the aged care sector, I get the chance to meet a wide variety of people and develop bonds with them and their families. Moreover, the skills I develop in my role benefit me both personally and professionally. Having completed a Certificate IV in Ageing Support, I am keen to progress more in this career so have recently enrolled in a Diploma of Community Service. With experience working in both Residential Aged Care and in Home Care, I have noticed both have their benefits and differences.

What I particularly like about Home Care is the ability to provide more flexibility and personalisation to someone’s daily routine. The happiest part of my job is the opportunity to make a difference each day in our clients’ lives, and help them live more a dignified life. It is also lovely to receive appreciation for being their caregiver. I have become passionate about taking care of elderly people and will never stop learning in this career. Outside of work, my hobbies are listening to music and playing footy, and I also like to travel and learn about different places and people.
