Last month, Regis Port Stephens hosted a special high tea to honour a remarkable group of centenarian residents.

This year, the Home celebrated five residents who reached a significant milestone: Marie, who will turn 100 in August, Millie and Barbara, who recently turned 101, and Elma and Mimi, who both reached the incredible age of 102.

The high tea offered a chance to celebrate and reflect on their lives. Families were invited to join, and many shared stories about their mothers, giving everyone a look into the rich experiences they have had over the decades.

When asked what it meant to reach such an incredible milestone, Mimi said, “A sip of scotch and music is the trick to a long and full life,” while Barbara said, “Be kind and enjoy every day.”

Events such as this have a profound impact on the wellbeing of our residents. They provide meaningful opportunities for social engagement, recognition and emotional connection key elements in promoting mental and emotional health.
