Residents from Regis Fawkner recently spent a sunny afternoon at Preston Market, enjoying fresh produce, good food and familiar surroundings. The outing gave residents a chance to revisit a place many knew well and reconnect with routines they once enjoyed.
Gaetano, one of the residents, smiled as he held a bag of oranges. “I used to come here every weekend,” he said. “It brings back so many good memories. It feels just like old times.”
The group wandered through colourful market stalls, chatted with stallholders and shared tips on picking the best fruit and vegetables. Some picked up fresh produce to take home, while others treated themselves to snacks along the way.
Later, everyone gathered at a café to enjoy margarita pizza and coffee. The atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful, with plenty of conversation and laughter.
