Residents and employees across our homes and offices came together to mark R U OK? Day, creating opportunities to connect, check in and spend timewith one another.

While activities looked different from home to home, the message was consistent: taking time to ask how someone is going and genuinely listen can make a difference.

At Regis Sandgate Lucinda, residents and employees shared a morning tea, using the occasion to sit together, chat and connect.

Residents at Regis Carseldine also came together for a morning tea, sharing some of the things that make them happy. From family and friends to favourite activities, the conversation created a simple way to reflect on wellbeing and what brings joy to everyday life.

At Regis Nedlands, residents and employees spent time together over lunch, with members of the Quality Consumer Advisory Body also joining the home for the day.

Other homes marked R U OK? Day with everything from barbecues and happy hours to smoothie bars, yellow decorations and conversations about personal wellbeing. Residents, employees and visitors were encouraged to get involved, share wellbeing tips and take time to connect with the people around them.

Team members across the country were also invited to join a webinar with R U OK? Ambassador Poppy Griffiths, who shared practical advice about recognising when someone might need support and starting a meaningful conversation.

R U OK? recommends four simple steps when checking in with someone: ask, listen, encourage action and check in.

R U OK? Day may be over for another year, but its message is one we can carry into everyday life.
