We’re delighted to announce that Regis Burnside in South Australia has been awarded our 2025 Kindest Home. This recognition celebrates the home’s commitment to meaningful, person-centred wellbeing initiatives that strengthen our Circle of Care.
Regis Burnside stood out for its creative approach to supporting team wellbeing, including a simple but effective QR code end-of-shift check-in and the launch of Wellbeing Wednesdays. These weekly activities, ranging from meditation and walking laps to origami and pop quizzes, have become a highlight for the team.
Nicole Gill, General Manager of Regis Burnside, shared “The introduction of Wellbeing Wednesday has been a game-changer for our Frontline Operations Team. It’s truly inspiring to see the whole team embracing the opportunity to relax, recharge and engage with each other in a meaningful way. The energy and enthusiasm around planning these midweek wellbeing escapes have brought a refreshing balance in our busy schedules, fostering a sense of connection and wellbeing that extends beyond the workplace.”
The Kindest Home award was introduced in 2022 and is held during Safety Month in October. It recognises homes that demonstrate acts of kindness improving the wellbeing of team members and, ultimately, residents. This year, we received 19 strong entries, with Burnside taking the top honour. Special mention goes to Regis Ayr, Regis Port Coogee and Regis Lodges on George for their inspiring contributions.
Janelle Hunt, General Manager Work Health and Safety, said “Kindness has been chosen as research shows it builds connection, contentment and stronger relationships, which improve overall wellbeing. I congratulate Regis Burnside on the connection between wellbeing and kindness, and thank all homes for sharing the heartwarming ways they support their teams and residents.”
Congratulations to Regis Burnside and to all homes that entered. Your efforts show that kindness truly makes a difference every day.
