Residents at Regis Ontario recently enjoyed a refreshing and uplifting morning at the local pool doing hydrotherapy.

For resident Rolly, getting back into the pool felt like coming home. A former competitive swimmer with five gold medals from his junior and teen years, Rolly slipped into the water with ease, completing lap after lap as though he’d never left the sport. “I was happy to be back in the water and could swim all day if I could,” he shared with a smile.

For resident Sheryl, the experience was just as meaningful, though for entirely different reasons. Growing up in the United States, this was only the second time she had ever visited an indoor heated pool, the first being last year. “I loved the experience,” she said, “I wish they had indoor pools when I was younger!”

Resident Barry preferred a gentler approach, choosing to dip his toes in the warm water before relaxing with a cappuccino poolside, enjoying the atmosphere and company.

Hydrotherapy offers gentle movement that can support mental wellbeing and physical mobility. Sessions like this give residents the chance to enjoy these benefits while connecting with each other.
