Regis Cranbourne recently came alive with colour, music and dance as they held a vibrant talent show full of excitement. Employees came together in traditional cultural dress to dance, since and play instruments for residents. The room was packed to the brim, with the audience cheering and clapping along.
The energy in the packed room was infectious, with residents enjoying every moment of the performances. Resident Jeff summed up the atmosphere simply, saying the event was “truly a really great show!”
The performances also struck a more emotional chord for some residents. Resident Brenda praised the performance. “The concert on Friday was great. The team did an excellent job with the dancing and the gospel song at the start really moved me emotionally.”
The employees at Regis Cranbourne shared how meaningful it was to perform for residents. Novjot, who danced several traditional dances, said seeing residents happy made her feel proud. “Seeing everyone enjoying themselves and smiling made me feel good. It made me feel proud that we can do this and put all those smiles on the residents’ faces.”
Zandra, who performed a Filipino dance in traditional dress, described the experience as both nerve‑wracking and rewarding. Although she hadn’t danced in front of an audience since she was in school, she said performing for residents and seeing their smiles and applause was really rewarding.
Reflecting on the day, team member Jacqui said she was proud of both the team and the response from residents. “The room was packed, with residents coming from all areas,” she said. “Everyone was so happy with the dancing, singing and music. The residents had a ball.”
It was a hugely successful show, and a wonderful opportunity for residents and employees to come together, celebrating culture, connection and community.
