This National Volunteers Week, we are celebrating the amazing volunteers that dedicate their time, support and care to Regis residents and clients across the country.
Volunteers at Regis Port Coogee are no exception, making up a vital part of the fabric of the Home.
Earlier this week, the Home’s residents and employees teamed up to celebrate the volunteers and recognise their valuable contributions.
At a special high tea residents, their families and employees came together to express their appreciation for the meaningful contributions Regis Port Coogee volunteers make.
At Regis, volunteers provide companionship and support residents in achieving their individual goals, whether that’s helping with a community outing, enjoying a card game, going for a walk or simply having a chat.
Bev, who volunteers by taking residents out on beach walks at Regis Port Coogee, said the morning tea was a welcome recognition.
“I felt so valued. I didn’t expect to be honoured just for being a volunteer,” she shared, “small gestures like these really boost our desire to continue giving back to the community.”
Regis Port Coogee’s Lifestyle Coordinator, Rohini George expressed her gratitude for the Home’s volunteers.
“This celebration was a small token of our immense appreciation. Our volunteers play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents, and their compassion, dedication and kindness do not go unnoticed.”
Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers across our residential aged care homes, the difference you make is invaluable.
