Facility Manager at Regis Kingswood:

“I feel a moral responsibility to look after the aged”

For Hannah, working in and around aged care began at age 16. She began working her way through high school as a Food Services Assistant in an aged care facility.

A desire to building more meaningful relationships with residents prompted her to acquire a Certificate in Aged Care to become a Personal Care Assistant. Hannah then furthered her studies and received a Diploma in Nursing, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She has also completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

When did you join Regis?

Before Regis, I was the director/consultant of an aged care consultancy company. I joined Regis in July 2018 as a Clinical Support Team Member. I took some pre-planned leave due to my father in law being ill and came back as Facility Manager of Regis Kingswood in September 2018.

Why did you join?

I wanted a career progression with a career goal in mind of expanding into an operations role. Ryan made contact with me and discussed the benefits of joining Regis, which ultimately led to my decision to join the organisation. I found the learning and development opportunities as well as the support systems within Regis to be enticing.

What do you like about your role/ your team?

I like the flexibility of the role, and each day brings a new set of challenges. I genuinely enjoy building up the team and seeing staff progress and develop within their roles and seeing the home itself grow from strength to strength as a result.

What do you like about working with the elderly?

I feel a moral responsibility to look after the aged. I enjoy supporting the elderly as they have given so much to our society. I think it is essential that they feel appreciated and supported and I enjoy the relationships that are built.

Anything else you would like to add?

I believe Regis has robust support systems in place, and this plays a vital role in the success and reputation that Regis has.
