Sustainability at Regis
At Regis, sustainability is woven into the fabric of how we care. As one of Australia’s leading aged care providers, we understand that the health of our residents, employees, and communities is deeply connected to the health of our planet. Our commitment to sustainability reflects our purpose: to deliver high-quality care while building a resilient, inclusive, and climate-conscious future. We approach sustainability through three interconnected pillars: Environment, Social Impact, and Governance (ESG) — each driving meaningful change across our operations and communities.
Environment
Climate Action and Sustainability: Australia’s aged care sector is growing rapidly, with the number of people aged 65+ expected to exponentially increase by 2050. This growth brings both opportunity and responsibility. At Regis, we are responding by transforming how we operate — reducing our environmental footprint while enhancing the wellbeing of those in our care. Climate change presents real risks, from extreme weather and supply chain disruptions to rising energy costs. We are proactively managing these risks to ensure continuity of care and long-term resilience. In accordance with the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards AASB S2, Regis will commence mandatory climate-related reporting in FY26. We are actively working towards greater energy efficiency, managing climate-related risks, and have re-established an emissions baseline (FY23) to guide our decarbonisation journey.
Social Impact
At Regis, we believe aged care should be inclusive, accessible, and community-driven. Our social impact efforts focus on:
- Supporting community initiatives and partnerships
- Promoting diversity and inclusion in recruitment and leadership
- Designing facilities that cater to accessibility and wellbeing
Our Homes are built to support resident wellbeing while also incorporating climate-resilient infrastructure that promotes dignity, independence, and connection. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone belongs, with inclusive recruitment practices that reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and operate in.
Governance
Sustainability at Regis is underpinned by a robust governance framework that ensures our environmental and social aspects are embedded across all levels of the organisation. Oversight of our ESG strategy is provided by the Board and Executive Leadership Team, with strategic direction guided by the Sustainability Working Group and implementation led by our dedicated Sustainability Manager. Transparency is a cornerstone of our governance approach. We monitor and report on ESG performance through structured internal and external audits, supported by data-driven reporting practices aligned with national standards. Our risk management framework addresses a wide range of ESG-related risks, including climate change, operational continuity, supply chain vulnerabilities, and regulatory compliance, among others.
More information on our emissions, key ESG programs and initiatives, and governance practices can be found in our latest FY25 Annual Report.
