Jacqui Clarke has spent over two decades making a real impact at Regis Cranbourne. Her journey is a powerful example of what it means to grow, thrive and find purpose in aged care. Since starting in the kitchen in 2003, Jacqui has embraced a wide variety of roles, moving through office administration, lifestyle coordination, and personal care before stepping into her current role as Wellbeing and Engagement Champion.
“I love everything about what I do,” Jacqui shares. “Every day, I know I can make a difference. Our residents thrive on connection, affection and knowing someone is there to listen.”
One of Jacqui’s most cherished memories is seeing residents living with dementia light up with joy during entertainment. “To see them sing and smile – it makes my heart sing.”
Her career progression speaks volumes about Regis’ commitment to setting Employees up for success. At 60, Jacqui was given the opportunity to complete her PCA qualification, paving the way for her transition into the wellbeing role she describes as “so rewarding and necessary.”
“I’ve been lucky to have experienced different roles across my 22 years. I feel supported, encouraged and grateful.”
Feeling valued is central to Jacqui’s experience. She takes pride in being part of a strong, close-knit team that genuinely cares. “I like being part of a team because it means more for the residents. Getting feedback that I’m doing a good job means a lot – I give my all every day.”
Jacqui’s passion is unmistakable. “Despite it being work, it’s also my joy. I feel incredibly lucky to do what I love. At this point, I can’t even think about retiring.”
