Family and friends in our Regis Homes were buzzing celebrating racing season with Melbourne Cup sweeps, fashion parades and games.
At Regis Sandgate Musgrave, the morning was filled with glitz and glamour, as residents and employees donned their Sunday, or Tuesday, best. Beautiful florals, ties and fascinators made for quite the show.
After the parade, in the afternoon, everyone cheered for their horses during the race.
When resident Margaret saw that her horse, Half Yours, took out the win, she cheered and smiled while receiving her certificate and gift voucher. It was a clean sweep for Margaret as she also won best dressed for the day. She said, “I am a lucky lady! That was wonderful! My daughter and I had so much fun. The team did a great job in making the day memorable.”
At Regis East Malvern, a pop-up gallery was created to celebrate Cup Day, providing residents an opportunity to showcase their talents and skills. Residents’ crafts were on display, as everyone celebrated their talents and creativity.
Regis Cranbourne celebrated Oaks Day in style at their 8th Annual Hat Parade. Residents proudly showcased elegant hats and fascinators, while laughter and applause filled the room. The fun continued with the much-loved pony race, where team members paraded in vibrant outfits and creative hats, bringing plenty of smiles. It was a day full of fashion, entertainment, and community spirit.
Regis Lutwyche put on craft activities leading up to the Cup, making special fascinators to wear on the day. The ‘Fashion on the Field Hat Parade’ was a huge success, and was followed by music, dancing and of course, everyone gathering to watch the race. Resident Hazel said, “it was a lovely day and lots of fun, I loved wearing my fascinator all day.”
Regis Oxley residents similarly got creative making wonderful fascinators, the perfect accessory to cheer on the race.
At Regis Chelmer, residents walked the red carpet proudly wearing their handmade hats. In the afternoon, everyone gathered again to watch the big race together, cheering and enjoying a selection of refreshing drinks. One resident even won three sweeps in a row.
It was a wonderful day of celebration across Regis, bringing together residents and employees over a love of dressing up and sharing prizes. Events like these ones at Regis mean life at our Homes is one full of connection, fun and community.
