Tasmanian homes Regis Norwood and Regis Legana recently met up for a picnic at Punchbowl Reserve park in Launceston’s southern suburbs.
For many residents, the day meant returning to a favourite bushland reserve and an opportunity to see friends from their sister home.
As part of a series of ongoing interhome reunions, this picnic brought together residents from across homes and encouraged connection to the wider community.
With her Home arriving first, Regis Norwood resident Janine warmly welcomed those from Regis Legana.
“It was wonderful to catch up with the Legana residents,” she said.
Alan, who lives at Regis Norwood, took charge of the barbecue, cooking up sausages for everyone to enjoy. A keen barbecuer before moving into aged care, the experience gave Alan a great sense of purpose and reminded him of the joy of cooking for friends and family.
At Regis, residents’ preferences and interests, like Alan’s, sit at the heart of our Lifestyle and Engagement activities. Regular outings that encourage community connection and time outdoors are a key part of everyday life.
